These shoes are not mine

Robbed twenty minutes before the panel, I turned the disruption into demonstration: thinking without a net, fragility as the thought finding its way.

These Shoes Are Not Mine

What I learned from being robbed twenty minutes before a dialogue with six philosophers at Congreso Futuro. Fragility became the thought finding its way.

Prompt Thinking

Method

If Hypnocracy is the diagnosis, Prompt Thinking is the navigation method. Coming February 2026 from Polity Press (English) and Rosameron (Spanish), the book proposes a new discipline: the art of formulating questions that generate thought, not just answers.

From Socratic maieutics to contemporary prompt engineering, the text traverses the history of philosophy to show how every great tradition of thought has been, at its core, a technology for generating thought through the right formulation of questions. Taught at IED Rome and 24Ore Business School. Practiced daily.

The thread connecting this work is a question: how do we think in the age of algorithmic trance?

Biography

I

I am a philosopher, publisher and writer. In 2014 I founded Tlon together with Maura Gancitano: a cultural project that manifests through festivals and events, a publishing house, two bookstores, and online and offline outreach, mixing high and low culture, analyzing the needs and meanings of our time, and connecting the academic world with popular culture.

I teach Prompt Thinking at IED Rome and 24Ore Business School, and Borges y la Inteligencia Artificial at Universidad del Sur in Buenos Aires. I am president of GenIA, an interdisciplinary hub on artificial intelligence at AANT — Academy of Arts and New Technologies in Rome. In 2024–2025 I held a research fellowship at the University of Foggia on artificial intelligence and systems of thought.

Together with Maura Gancitano I am philosophical director of the Festival del Pensare Contemporaneo in Piacenza and the Carnival of Putignano. I have given TEDx talks on the philosophy of artificial intelligence (TEDxRoma) and the relationship between art and AI (TEDxBarletta).

My approach to artificial intelligence is not observational but dialogical. I work with AI systems, not just about them. This is how Hypnocracy was written. This is how I think.

There is an experiment in progress. When the time comes, you will see it.
